As God’s image-bearers we live in
the tension of two realities: the physical realm and its influences (both good
and bad) and the reality of the Kingdom of God, where relationship with Him
trumps everything.
As the Joint Master’s Commission director
I have the great privilege of leading a generation into an authentic, raw and
life-changing relationship with the Creator of the universe. Salvation, the
beginning of that relationship, is not just a one-time experience, but an
ongoing shift from living a life of purposelessness, into a deep and powerful
oneness with God. The world is craving significance and purpose, and we as
Christians should be able to lead them into the truth of God without beating
them over the head with it. Our lives should be a display of God’s reality
lived through us, and should be lived out in a way that is contagious to the
world. When the world looks at how we live they should see that we are open,
transparent, and real and deeply care for others because we recognize the value
contained within every human being.
Jesus came to establish this new
lifestyle of purpose, but how we live is not something that changes overnight!
It takes time to unlearn what we've been told is true by the culture of today,
and relearn, through connecting with God, how life is truly supposed to be.
This unlearning and relearning can
be done by anyone in any place, but it’s the most effective when carried out in
a community. Relationship and community make up a large part of the framework
at JMC where we work together as a family. I want to challenge you to take a
plunge into a community who will believe in you. It's time to let God shape you
even more into the person He sees when He looks at you! On this site you will
find the JMC application for the 2011-2012 term. Fill out and return an
application, and tell someone else you know who might be interested.
Allow yourself the freedom you
deserve and become who you are destined to be!
Living Life to the Fullest,
MARCUS CARTER
