What is joint Master’s Commission?
Joint Master’s Commission (JMC) is a nine-month, discipleship program in St. Cloud, MN. JMC is affiliated with Master’s Commission International based out of Texas with over 90 affiliates all over the nation and globe. To check out Master’s Commission International go to www.mcin.org.

For a more in-depth description, check out the sections “About JMC” or “What’s JMC all about”.

Who is Master’s for?
Master’s Commission is for anyone at least 18 years old seeking to take 1-3 years to devote to God, regardless of calling, to learn their identity in Christ and to mature as a son created in the image of our Father. Students are generally between the ages of 18-25 but there is no age limit. Married couples are also accepted but must meet with the director to discuss certain terms and conditions.

Is Master’s a Bible school or ministry school?
Master’s Commission is for anyone, with any calling, and for those going into any career. Though students primarily receive instruction and training in Biblical topics, it is not only for those called into “full time ministry”.

JMC seeks to develop the whole man and prepare each student to be able to walk out his/her calling, whatever it may be, with character, passion, creativity, confidence and skill. JMC curriculum, activities and events provide training that is key to any individual whether he/she goes on to business or full time ministry.

What are the costs involved outside of tuition?

Tuition costs for students cover housing, meals, weekly gas allowance for Master’s Commission activities, ministry trips, textbooks and class materials.

Tuition does not cover personal expenses. Each student will be responsible for their own toiletries, laundry and cleaning products, additional food or gas, etc. Students will also need coins for laundry.

It is suggested that each student have a checking/savings account of $800.00, which can be used throughout the nine-month program (approximately $20.00 per week)

Where will I live? Can I find my own place to live? Is rent included in tuition?
JMC students will live in apartments with other Master’s Commission disciples and rent is included in the tuition cost. Students must live in these apartments and will receive a list of roommates prior to move-in. Students will move into their apartment the Sunday prior to the first day of JMC (October) and move out the Friday before their Sunday graduation (June).

It is the heart of JMC for students to experience a family atmosphere and one of the ways this is accomplished is in the living arrangements. Each apartment will experience “family nights” at least once a week with their respective roommates. Each student will learn to communicate, love and respect one another as fellow members of the Body of Christ.

Do we get days off and when?
Students are in classes Tuesday-Friday. Saturdays and Sundays students are expected to be available for ministry and other events and activities (including attending church on Sundays). Students have Monday as their day off and will not be called upon for ministry on these days.

Can we visit family and if so, how often?
Students can visit family but must receive permission from JMC staff 4 days prior to leaving if they are traveling more than 15 minutes away from St. Cloud. Extended weekend stays with family are also allowed, on occasion, provided that the student has kept all other prior commitments and JMC responsibilities.

What classes will I take?
First year students take courses such as Old and New Testament Survey and Helps in Bible Study and gain instruction in areas such as the history of the Church, foundational aspects of the Christian life and doctrine, spiritual fathering, and the Kingdom of God. Relationships, family and a disciplined lifestyle are also key elements to the JMC curriculum and training.
